The Support Committee\u00a0consists of eighty prominent people\u00a0of\u00a0the civil society. Among such people there are professionals who have had outstanding professional\u00a0careers in the health sector, the pharmaceutical industry and\u00a0the bussiness field. Likewise, the group\u00a0is composed of\u00a0prominent individuals in the fields of\u00a0communication, retired politicians, leading members\u00a0from the academic community and\u00a0representatives of international\u00a0agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The first meeting of the Support Committee took place on\u00a012 of June at the\u00a0Parc de Recerca Biom\u00e8dica\u00a0in Barcelona and has been chaired by the Minister of Health,\u00a0Social Services and Equality, Dolors Montserrat, the Regional Minister of Health\u00a0of the Government of\u00a0Catalonia, Antoni Com\u00edn and the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The creation of\u00a0\u00a0the Support Committee for\u00a0the candidacy of\u00a0Barcelona as seat\u00a0of the EMA is part of\u00a0the campaign\u00a0#BCN4EMA, which is being jointly promoted\u00a0by the Government of Spain, the Government of\u00a0Catalonia and the Barcelona City Council to achieve that\u00a0Barcelona becomes the new medicines capital of Europe.
