VALTERMED

Valtermed is the new information system of the National Health System (NHS) which aims to generate, store and make available relevant information for the determination of the real therapeutic value provided by the medicinal products used in the NHS. Valtermed has very solid foundations that justify its creation to respond to very specific needs related to the emergence of new medicinal products with high budgetary impact and outcome-based models for financing them. This article aims to identify such foundations, as well as to expose the basic characteristics of Valtermed.
