Faus Moliner participates at the Course on Pharmaceutical Law organized by CEFI
Lluís Alcover, Joan Carles Bailach and Jordi Faus participated at the Course on Pharmaceutical Law "Biomedicine, Medicines and Public Health" organized by the CEFI Foundation.
In the last years, the Course on Pharmaceutical Law organized by Fundación CEFI has become a reference forum for the legal analysis of issues that affect the life of a medicinal product.
In this last edition, held in Madrid on 27 and 28 September 2022, Faus Moliner participated with three presentations.
Lluís Alcover´s presentation dealt with the access to innovative drugs and analysis and proposals for improvement, in which he made various proposals to promote access to new drugs that are authorized but not financed. Among others, Lluís Alcover proposed the establishment of a system of responsible declaration to replace the current system of individual authorization by the AEMPS when access is requested to authorized but not marketed drugs.
For his part, Joan Carles Bailach’s intervention dealt with the confidentiality of drug prices and the impact of Law 19/2013, of December 9, on transparency, access to public information and good governance in the pharmaceutical sector. During his presentation, Joan Carles Bailach stated that “the public interest in maintaining an economically sustainable National Health System makes it advisable to maintain the confidentiality of drug prices”.
Finally, Jordi Faus discussed about new business models in the pharmaceutical sector. In this presentation, Jordi Faus explained the difference between dispensing and delivery, as well as the appropriate instruments for channeling innovative public procurement and the challenges that this entails.
