Confidentiality
We understand that you may disclose confidential information and/or documentation to us. We agree to take appropriate measures to keep any such information and/or documentation confidential, and we shall not use any such information and/or documentation for any purpose other than in connection with representing your company.
Upon completion of our work, any nonpublic documentation that you may have supplied to us and that is retained by us will be kept confidential. At your request, your papers and property will be promptly returned to you. Our own files pertaining to the matter will be retained by us. These files may include, for example, administrative records, time and expense reports, internal lawyers’ work product such as drafts, notes, internal memoranda, and legal and factual research. We reserve the right to destroy or otherwise dispose of any such documents or other materials retained by us.
The media
Sometimes we get enquiries from journalists and others in the media who approach us for information on what is going on in the Spanish and European pharmaceutical environment. We carefully select who we talk to, and we never provide information on any client in particular or about any case on which we are or have been working.
IT Security
Let’s face it, no IT system is 100% secure. If anyone has told you the opposite, they are simply wrong. On our side, we rely on specialised and reliable IT service providers, and we have taken all appropriate measures to reduce the risk of security breaches, phishing and other cyber attacks to a minimum. So far, in the last 23 years, we have reacted wisely to any attempted attack, and have not run into any trouble.
Your personal data
We use it only to remain in contact with you, share our work and our knowledge. Sometimes we might send you news on our firm, on something we have written or an award we have been given. We will regularly send you our Capsulas Newsletter; and you should also expect a card from us in December, wishing you the best for the coming year. Do not expect gifts from us, but sometimes we might send you a copy of a book or a journal to which we have contributed.
Other than that, we will not share your personal data with others unless you expressly approve of us doing so.
Conflicts of interests
As you may know, ours is a boutique law firm specialising in advising companies operating in the life sciences sector. As such, our firm represents and may in the future represent other companies that are direct or indirect, actual or potential competitors of your company. It may also well be that our present or future clients have disputes or transactions with your company. Because of this, we need you to agree that we may continue to represent or might in the future undertake to represent existing or new clients in any matter. This is, of course, subject to our strict compliance with all applicable rules on professional conduct.
